Got web page updates for UTA Libraries Online?

31 January 2005
Sarah Jones

Have you browsed through the library web site, UTA Libraries Online, and encountered a page with typos? Or a wonky-looking format? Or other strangeness that you thought maybe shouldn't be like that?

Do you or your program area have responsibility for a library service or other information that we present on the library web site?

Are you someone who used to create and maintain web pages for the "old" UTA Libraries Online? (but, since the redesign, those web pages that you used to maintain yourself now are part of the new site, so you can't edit them directly anymore?)

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then this message is especially for you. (but, everybody else can listen too … you all may find yourselves answering "yes" sometime to at least one of those 3 questions)

Email us at libraryweb@uta.edu ("Library - Web Site Comments" in the UTA Address Book in Outlook):

  • Telling us about typos, bad formatting, or other weirdness.
  • Sending us corrections or updates to information that you or your program area has responsibility for -- this can include simply correcting errors on the web site or telling us about changes in what our users should know about the Libraries.
  • Sending us changes to the web pages that you used to maintain (such as Guides and Bibliographies, Library Course Pages, links to newly-issued library publications, etc.).
  • Sending us new promotional items, such as information about library news and events.

If you have a specific deadline for when the new, updated, or corrected information must be available on the web site, be sure to tell us what that deadline is.

At the moment, we publish web site updates to the "live" web site twice a week. (or, if you've heard us talk about "redeploying the web site" -- that's what I mean by "publishing the changes" -- that is, making your changes visible on the public web site)

These web site changes get published overnight Monday night/Tuesday morning and then again overnight Thursday night/Friday morning. If possible, give us a few days lead time so we can incorporate your updates into our work to get them published on time. However, if there's an emergency or other special circumstances, just let us know and we will be able to accommodate you.

Questions, comments or uncertainties about any of the above? No problem, just call me or send me an email and we'll get it sorted out.
