Sarah Jones
As we reach the end of WAC's inaugural year, I'm pleased to report that we've had a year that's been both rewarding and extremely productive.
WAC addressed philosophical, conceptual, and policy issues related to the library’s web presence, including:
- The purpose and goals of UTA Libraries Online
- The composition, message, and image of to be portrayed by the site’s home page
- The major navigation sections of the site, including the topics and content to be included in each of those sections
- Selection and definition of new site features (e.g. "Resources for You")
- Guidelines and policy for upcoming features (e.g. Message Boards)
From this great beginning, I anticipate that WAC will continue its dedication and hard work to further develop UTA Libraries Online. I’d also like to add that I’m personally gratified and proud to have been working with this group of people during this year: standing members Suzanne Beckett, Marie Irwin, Cathy Spitzenberger, Gretchen Trkay, and Jim Wellvang; and at-large members Gerald Alvarez, Barbara Howser, and Josie Murdock.
We also are pleased to welcome the new year's At-Large members: Burton King, Mitch Stepanovich, and C.D. Walter. We're looking forward to their ideas, opinions and other contributions to WAC and UTA Libraries Online!
