Quarterly Report: Q1 2004-2005

The Web Advisory Committee (WAC) was officially charged in mid-October 2004, with all recommended members agreeing to be part of the group and the process of scheduling the first meeting occuring in late October.

WAC has met twice so far (November 1 and November 15) and the group is in the process of organizing itself for the tasks ahead.

Administrativa that has been accomplished:

• Group mailing list: library-wac@listserv.uta.edu
• Q: drive space for file sharing: Q:\MIS\Web Advisory Committee (WAC)
• Regular meeting time: (1 st and 3 rd Monday of the month, 3:00-4:00 pm, B-29 meeting room)
• Rotation for minute-taking duties among all members except the chair

Administrativa in progress:

• Establish a web site for WAC to enhance the visibility of the group and to provide an additional way for WAC to communicate to the library staff

Activities:

• Identify current web authors among the library staff
• Discuss what we each hope WAC will accomplish
• Organize and conduct open sessions with library staff to get feedback on portions of the web site's main navigation (the drop-down menu items under "Library Catalog" and "Research"). These sessions are expected to take place in mid-December or early January
• Develop priorities for addressing web site issues
