Accomplishments and Successes

I. Projects Completed

• UTA Libraries Online home page layout redesign
• Mockup completed and approved by LMT
• Mockup reviewed by UTA Libraries staff
• UTA Libraries Online navigation redesign (but, see "Projects in Progress" below)
• User policy and implementation guidelines for Message Boards on UTA Libraries Online
  

II. Projects in Progress

• Revising the navigation redesign in view of the new home page layout
• Extracting current web site content from WebLogic Server
• Integration of MetaLib/OneSearch functions into the UTA Libraries Online web site, pending continuing development of OneSearch
  

III. Projects Scheduled for Q4 2004-2005

• Testing and feedback of the home page and navigation redesigns with users who are not library staff
  

IV. Projects Projected for Q4 2004-2005 and beyond

• Having UTA Libraries Online operating out of WebLogic Platform by the end of Q4
• Implementing Message Boards on UTA Libraries Online
• Implementing Macromedia Contribute 3 for distributed web page authoring and content management
  

Other Upcoming Issues

LMT will need to appoint 3 new WAC members to replace the current "At Large" members (Barbara Howser, Gerald Alvarez, and Josie Murdock), whose terms expire August 31, 2005

From the WAC Charge on At Large members :

At Large Members include three additional committee members who are appointed on a rotating basis. Ideally these appointees should be staff members who are involved in daily customer interactions that involve using the Libraries' Web presence. At Large Members will be appointed by the Library Management Team and serve a one year term (September through August).

In addition, I would suggest that additional factors in choosing At Large Members be:

• Interest in web communication and the user experience of web sites
• Willingness and ability to commit time and attention to WAC matters

Delays in extracting web site content from WebLogic Server, because this has meant delays in implementing Macromedia Contribute 3
