Agenda:
Discussion of the message, image, scenarios to be portrayed in home page photography
An image mockup of the home page is at: http://www3.uta.edu/library/redesign/utaloReworkVersion2.4.jpg with an html version at http://brie.uta.edu/
Background information regarding the photo in the mockup: Characteristics of the photo in the mockup are: 1) an individual who is identifiably representative of a segment of the UTA community, 2) an individual in a location that is recognizably a library, 3) an individual occupied with an activity that is recognizably a library activity, 4) eye contact with the camera, 5) a calming yet engaging demeanor.
Questions to consider in this discussion:
- When thinking of ideas for the home page images, think of what we want to say about the library or a service of the library. Do not think about specific pictures or places -- only think about concepts that we would portray, such as "research" or "reference". Abstract is good.
- What do we want to say about the library?
- What "image" of the library do we want people to have?
- What segments of the UTA community do we want to portray? Are some segments "must include" segments? Are some segments "nice to have but less important"?
- What activities and/or services do we want to portray?
