Agenda:
- Who should have responsibility/authority over taxonomy questions? (for example, a subject librarian suggests his/her subject be listed in a particular "broad" subject area in Resources by Subject) If someone wants to propose a change in how a subject is categorized in Resources by Subject, who do they contact to make this proposal? (JONES)
ACTION:
- We control the UTALO taxonomy, but it remains informed by the MetaLib taxonomy as well as usability considerations
- We need to define and select resources for Resources for General Reference and "General/Multidisciplinary" resources
- GIS in Resources by Subject -- add to Science & Mathematics and Public Affairs & Law. Leave in Social Sciences
- In Resources for Subject, how about a broad category, like, "
General" "Langnappe" that contains Controversial Issues, GIS, Reference
- LIFT Text Transcoder for accessibility (see here and here) - Should we proceed with this? What questions/issues are there before we decide whether to proceed with taking the budget request to LMT? (IRWIN, JONES)
