1. Home page redesign update (Irwin)

ACTION:
Tried to hire a student to do CSS.
37 applicants, and not one who was qualified
So, we're hiring a temp instead
They will start Thurs June 29
They'll do 20 hrs a week for 3 months
They'll work on 1st: UTALO, 2nd: intranet, 3rd: message boards

2. LIFT update (Irwin)

ACTION:
It's actually live on the site (Text Only link at the top)
LIFTing the Library Catalog has been an issue
Alt tags were missing but they are there now
"My Account" and "Annex Request" appear as though there is no text. But LIFT has figured out what to do and they are working on coding for it
WAC: click around in the text-only version to see if you can find issues
Once this is up and we feel good, we can start promoting it

3. Resources by Subject redesign update (Beckett)

ACTION: Still in progress.

4. Resource Wizard development - apply for a grant maybe? (Trkay)

Maybe IMLS
The idea is to shoot high, get funding to make an *amazing* service instead of just doing something normal
Mostly would fund staffing to do user research, application design, and interface/interaction design

We need to check on UTA protocols with regard to grant applications (Check w/ Gerald before even checking with Scott Self (UTA grants office)

ACTION:
WAC says: go for it
Gretchen, of behalf of WAC will explore more about the mechanics and protocols of grant writing at UTA.

5. Cathy Spitzenberger has resigned her position at the library, and so is no longer a member of WAC as of today. (Jones)

ACTION: LMT is supposed to appoint someone new.

6. LibX (Beckett)

And other extensions, widgets, etc, for local catalog searching.

ACTION: Suzanne will recommend this to the new WebVoyage Advisory Committee
